Myrtle Masters, 91, of Waxahachie passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas. She was born April 14, 1921, in Elk Point, S.D., to John and Lois (Hollingsworth) Gettle. She was a member of the New Beginnings Bible Church in Ferris, Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Hendrich and husband, Bill of Waxahachie and Nancy Law and husband, Thurman of Valdosta, Ga.; eight grandchildren: Bobby Barker, Michele Hill, Fae Anne Millier, Mary Newbern, Ronald Euler, Elizabeth Ellis, Sandy Dickson and B.J. Posey; and 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elaine Gettle of Casper, Wy.; a very special friend, LeAnn Wooley of Red Oak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ernest Masters; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Adams officiating.
