James “Jim” Haley Armstrong, 59, of Waxahachie passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 in Waxahachie. Jim was born on Nov. 12, 1952 in Louiseville, Ken. to Johnnie and Patty Lo Haley Armstrong.
Jim was a 1971 graduate of Waxahachie High School. He loved his family, his dog Deja and loved the outdoors. He had a green thumb like no other.
He always said, “I can make a dead plant grow.”
Jim especially loved his friends, whom were a very big part of his family. His passion for life was only exceeded by his love for others.
He seemed to always make everyone laugh when they needed it the most.
He will always be remembered by his very unique style of humor, which was a blessing to us all.
Jim is survived by his two sons, James and Marcus Armstrong; cousins, Bill Hughes and his family and Bob Hughes and family.
Jim was also survived by his biological family, of whom he was very proud. He is survived by his brothers, Gerald Harmon, Kenny and his wife, Mary Ann Daylan, and Henry Yates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Armstrong and Patty Lo Haley, his biological parents Kinley Ray Huff and Mary Helen Harmon and one biological brother, William Ray Yates.
Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Pallbearers will be James Armstrong, Jr., Marcus Armstrong, Dusty Autrey, Will Widner, Johnnie Wiggins and Frank Martinez.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
