Gloria Jeanne Jones Kee

Nov. 11, 1941 –

Dec. 24, 2011

Gloria Jeanne Jones Kee, 70, died Christmas Eve. After a long illness, she passed under the loving care of Lighted Pathways Hospice. Gloria was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Atlanta, Ga. to Johnny J. and Marjorie Elizabeth Jones. She graduated from Riverdale, Ga. High School in 1959 and soon after graduation she met the love of her life. Her husband, Troy, was serving on active duty in Georgia at that time. They married on Sept., 3 1961, in Riverdale.

Immediately following the marriage ceremony, the newlywed couple, with sister-in-law, brother-in-law and mother-in-law, traveled straight to Troy’s home state of Texas, where they built a beautiful new life together. Gloria and Troy lived in Grand Prairie until Troy accepted a transfer with the Lone Star Gas Co. in 1974. With their two little girls, they moved to the Midlothian community. Gloria worked as a secretary/manager over the Land and Development Dept. of Gibraltar Savings and Loan for 25 years. She received her retirement in 1985. Her favorite and most rewarding job was being a wife and mother.

Gloria was a member of Oak Crest Baptist Church, joyfully serving for many years until her illness kept her from visiting on a regular basis. Faithfully this body visited and ministered to her in such a touching way that her family will never forget. Gloria was an uncommon beauty whose tender and caring heart touched the lives of so many. She was a faithful witness to the saving grace found in Jesus Christ even during her times of deepest struggle.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Troy Ray Kee; father, Johnny J. Jones Sr.; mother, Marjorie Elizabeth Jones; father-in-law, William Earl Kee; mother-in-law, Susie Isabelle Breedlove Kee; and brother-in-law, Aaron Archer Kee.

She is survived by her two daughters, Angela Kee Turner and Margie Kee Eubank and husband, Rick; eight precious grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Joshua, Joy and Marlena Turner, Ricky, Jonathan and Seth Eubank; brothers, Johnny Jones and wife, Carol, and Ronald Jones and wife, Loretta; sister, Janice McDaniel; sisters-in-law, Velma Kee Moore and husband, Jimmy, Lois Kee Moore and husband, V.C., Reva Kee Crues and husband, Tommy; brothers-in-law, Billy Earl Kee Jr. and wife, Linda and John Russell Kee and wife, Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Midlothian Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Oak Crest Baptist Church in Midlothian.

Pallbearers will be Rick Eubank Sr., James Moore, Jodi Hodnett, Randy Eubank Jr., Darren Eubank and John Binkley. She will be escorted by her grandsons, Ricky Jonathan and Seth Eubank.
