George Price Love, 77, of Bardwell, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at his home.
George was born in Uvalde, Texas, to Price and Edna (Harris) Love July 10, 1934. He was the only son of 13 children. He grew up in Castroville and the San Antonio area and attended school in Castroville. On March 20, 1965, he married Sandra Ashcraft and they made their home in Irving, Texas, for 17 years and then made their home in Bardwell for 28 years. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force.
He was employed by LTV Northrup Grumman for 29 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and Ennis High School football. He enjoyed doing word searches and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to dance, especially with his lovely wife of 46 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Love of Bardwell; one daughter, Terri Muniz, and her husband, Jayme, of Ennis; his three beloved grandchildren: Kelsey Love of Austin, Amanda Love and Amber Faith Muniz of Ennis; three sisters: Louise Miller of San Antonio, Fran Potts, and her husband, Hershel, of Fort Sumner, N.M. and Carol Jackson of Bardwell, formerly of Walnut Springs, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Melanie Sangalli of Irving; along with numerous nieces and nephews who all called him “Uncle Bud” or “Uncle Brother.”
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kevin Love in March of 1991. He will be greatly missed as a brother, husband, daddy, father-in-law, grandpa and friend as he celebrates in Heaven. All those that had the pleasure of knowing him will miss him also.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A celebration of his life will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec.30, 2011, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.
