Fannie Ruth Humphries, 99, of Waxahachie passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in Frisco, Texas. She was born June 20, 1912, in Rankin, Texas, to William Alsie and Maud Ella Clark Lyon. Fannie was a graduate of Waxahachie High School. She was a longtime member of the Rockett Christian Church and was the caretaker of the Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rockett for 18 years.
Fannie loved to quilt and was very involved with the Red Oak Senior Citizens, was a member of the Waxahachie Senior Citizens and was a member of the Waxahachie Genealogy Club. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Lavon Humphries of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren: Lanita and Mark Lafon of Lubbock, Texas, Larry Humphries of Waxahachie and Randy Henry of Wylie, Texas; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Humphries, and her daughter, Patsy Henry.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with the Rev. C. D. Haun officiating. Interment will follow at Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rockett, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:30 p.m. until service time Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
