Nannie Wilson passed away Feb. 22, 2009, at Fort Worth’s Baylor All Saints Medical Center. Kenneth passed away Feb. 23, 2009, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

Nannie was born in Byrd-Rankin on July 6, 1923, to parents Samuel H. and Nancy (Bethune) Armstrong, attended Byrd-Rankin schools and graduated from Ennis High School in 1941. She was a member of the EHS state championship girl’s basketball team of 1941. She was a homemaker.

Kenneth was born in Avalon, Texas, on Jan. 2, 1922, to parents Robert O. and Nora (Pierce) Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Avalon. He provided for his family by farming and ranching. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre.

Nannie and Kenneth are survived by three sons, Jimmy Wilson of Avalon, Joe and his wife, Norma Wilson of Ennis and Jerry and his wife, Charlotte Wilson of Avalon; seven grandchildren, Jamie Wilson, Julie Wilson, Jenny Wilson Page, Jeremy Wilson, Jason Wilson, Jerod Wilson and Justin Wilson; and six great-grandchildren.

Nannie is preceded in death by five brothers, Fernie, Wornie, Arnold, Webb and L.D.; five sisters, Mary, Lilia, Mae, Lucille and Pearl; and daughter-in-law, Geri Wilson.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Wilson; three brothers, Fred, Bob and Burhl Wilson; two sisters, Kathleen Snodgrass and Norrine Denny; and daughter-in-law, Geri Wilson.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Keever Chapel in Ennis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Ennis Keever Chapel with the Rev. Cleve Clark and the Rev. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will be in Hughes Cemetery in Avalon, under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary Inc.
