John George O単olka Jr., 62, unexpectedly passed away in Riverside, Calif., from a heart attack on Feb. 18, 2011. Born Jan. 2, 1949, in Franklin, Pa., John was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Bolmer O単olka and John George O単olka Sr.; and his sister, Linda Bishop.
John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Judith Ritter O単olka; sons, John G. O単olka III and Sarah Tucker, Jeff O単olka and his wife, Shannon; his sister Linda痴 children, Mike, Suzanne and Elizabeth Bishop; and grandchildren, Brittney Wright, Gavin Reaves, Bryan and Carleigh O単olka; as well as his beloved dog, Holly. He also leaves behind an extended family and loving friends.
John graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin, Pa., and graduated Penn Technical Institute, Pittsburgh, Pa. with a degree in electronic technology. John had a long career with Bethlehem Steel Co., Chaparral Steel Co., Doctors Hospital and Lone Star Steel. At the time of his passing, he worked for Dematic Corp. as a project manager. John was well respected in the industry for his operational and managerial skills and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. John enjoyed life, politics, shooting sports, great conversation and food with family and friends. He was a passionate life member of both the NRA and Texas State Rifle Association. As a former volunteer firefighter and paramedic it is fitting he became an organ donor upon his death.
The memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 E. Avenue E, Midlothian, TX 76065-3003.
