Jimmie May Sallee Field, 77, passed away on May 22, 2007 in Midlothian, Texas.

Jimmie was born on October 10, 1929, in Sayre, Okla., to James Ralph Sallee and Ida Mae Barrett Sallee (both deceased). She was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Robert G. (Bob) Field.

She is survived by her five children, R. Gordon Field, Jr. and his wife Linda, of Houston, D. Bruce Field and his wife Gloria, of Midlothian, D. Elaine Field Wike and her husband, Mike, of Houston, J. Timothy Field and his wife Barbara, of Virginia, and S. Diann Iufer and her husband Gregg, of Sunnyvale, Calif., as well as her 18 grandchildren: Mike Wike II, Rhea Field Moore, Karen Field, Chris Iufer, Alan Field, Dan Field, Angelina Wike, Kyle Iufer, Ben Field, Willy Wike, Stephanie Iufer, Staci Field, Lizzie Wike, Mary Field, Josh Iufer, Eddy Wike, Melanie Field, and Windy Gale Wike. Her brother, Jack Sallee (deceased) was her only sibling.

Her life was devoted to her family. Throughout her years of raising children, she was actively involved in teaching Sunday School, being Cub Scout Den Mother, Camp Fire Girls Leader, and numerous other activities with her children and their friends.

She was a talented seamstress, creating many needlepoint masterpieces. She grew up in Amarillo, and has lived in various cities in Texas (Lubbock, El Paso, Houston, and Midlothian), and in California (Ridgecrest, San Jose, Los Altos Hills, Lancaster, Los Altos, Stockton and Copperopolis), as well as Casper, Wyoming and Honolulu, Hawaii.

She will be buried in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Calif., with her husband.
