Jerry Martin, 74, of Trinidad, formerly of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in a Kaufman hospital. He was born to the late William and Louise Lucas Martin on Nov. 16, 1934, in Boyce.
Jerry loved to fish, garden, and work in his yard. He could fix anything and he often helped his friends and neighbors. He lived at Cedar Creek Lake for 20 years. He worked for Safeway and then retired from Owens-Corning. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Martin of Trinidad; his children, Kevin Martin and his wife, Lisa of McKinney, Kathy Terry and her husband, David of Waxahachie, Keith Martin and his wife, Alyssa of Dallas, James Ackley and his wife, Jennifer of Arlington and Donald Ackley and his wife, Shannon of Rowlett; his sister, Gloria Beasley of Gun Barrell City; his brother, Donnie Martin of Hunstville; 10 grandchildren, Todd, Lauren, Jerrett, Fallon, Emilie, Conrad, Kendall, Audrey, Gracie and Faith; and a great-grandson, Brice.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Dora Neal; and his cousin, Paul Wooley.
Memorial services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
