Jeanette C. Baker, 82, of Itasca, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, at Huguley Hospital.
She was born to the late J. A. S. Chapman and Lula Rigby Chapman on May 31, 1925, in Johnson County, Texas.
Jeanette loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress. She operated the B & C in downtown Itasca for many years.
She also loved to crochet, do needlework and was famous for her baking around town.
Everyone enjoyed her pies and she will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Earl J. Baker and wife Cindy of Keller, Mary Beth Henson and husband Leon of Itasca, Jerry W. Baker and wife Karen of Files Valley, Jimmy Baker and wife Karen of Itasca; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Maurice Chapman of Ft. Worth, Herman Chapman of Sachse; sister, Lou Frances Wright of Alvarado.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl W. Baker, brother Leon Chapman and sister, Mozelle Ilfrey.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the Itasca Cemetery.
Visitation with the family was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the funeral home.
