Services for Harold Wayne Pigg, 74, of Tyler will be held at 2 p.m. on March 10, 2011, in the chapel of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, with the Rev. Mark Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Frankston City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Stewart Family Funeral Home at 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas from 5:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. A memorial service will be held at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas, at 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011.

Harold was born on Sept. 1, 1936, in Ennis, Texas, to the late Guy and Margaret Pigg. He died on March 6, 2011, following a lengthy battle with cancer. After having lived in DeSoto, Texas, for 48 years, Harold and wife, Lourene, recently relocated to Tyler where they became members of Southside Baptist Church. They had been charter members of Colonial Hills Baptist Church of Cedar Hill for more than 25 years.

     After graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1954, Harold began his 38-year career with Mobil Pipe Line Company in Dallas, with his last position being engineering administrative supervisor. Harold enjoyed gardening, working in the church library, playing bridge, entertaining friends, visiting historical places and traveling with his family.

     On August 25, 1961, Harold married Lourene Gorman. God blessed their marriage with two wonderful children.

Harold is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lourene; daughter, Michelle Thompson and husband, Bruce; son, Alan Pigg and wife, Melanie, all of Tyler. The joys of his life were his precious grandchildren, Elissa, Bret and Gregory Thompson and Madeline Pigg all of Tyler. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Pigg of Waxahachie, and numerous other extended family members.

     Pallbearers will be Kenneth Pigg, Richard Burton, James Franklin, Jesse Gorman, Jimmie Mobley and Charlie Nay.
