Georgia Haskovec Harris, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at the Ennis Care Center.
Georgia was born Feb. 22, 1928 to John E. and Pauline (Novak) Haskovec in Ennis. She attended school in Telico and Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1946. On Sept. 5, 1948 she married L.D. (Bud) Harris in Ennis where they made their home.
Georgia was employed by Sears for more than 23 years as the phone sales supervisor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge.
Georgia is survived by one son, Les Harris and his wife Karen of Ennis; one grandson, Glenn Harris, of Austin and one granddaughter, Rachel Harris, of Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.D. (Bud) Harris on May 28, 2009 and one brother, Johnny Haskovec.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Chapel with the Rev. Craig Krueger officiating. Pallbearers were Randy Jones, Tim Stewart, Tommy Weatherly and Randy Wiemelt. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
