Frederick Paul Jonte III of Midlothian passed away on Feb. 16, 2009. At 56 years, he was far too young, but with his passion for life and adventure he lived far more than his years.
Paul was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then reenlisted into the U.S. Navy, where he continued his adventures. He served in the Navy in many capacities and places, but he enjoyed his role as crewchief and rescue diver aboard a search and rescue helicopter the most.
Paul had many interests including flying and flight of any kind, scuba diving, swimming, sailing, playing his guitar and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma June Jonte and sister, Shannon. He is survived by his brother, Pat Jonte and wife Vickie of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Mollie Jonte and her husband Bill Shaw of Red Oak, Texas, and Kathleen Hamilton and husband William Hamilton of Ovilla, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Paul also leaves behind his beloved cats, Mariana, Biggie Boy and Terry.
A memorial service will be held for Paul in Pensacola, Fla., at a later date.
