Floyd Mitchell Yarbrough, 62, a long time resident of Waxahachie passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center at Waxaha-chie. 

He was born May 15, 1947, to G.W. and Francis (McCain) Yarbrough in Waxaha-chie. Floyd graduated from Italy High School in 1965 and attended Navarro College. He married Linda Johnson of Waxahachie on March 2, 1970, in Ardmore, Okla. He worked for Southwestern Bell and retired from Foster Forbes in 1999 after many years of employment.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of Waxahachie; one son, Jim Olesko; mother, Frances Yarbrough; sister, Kay Wells, all of Italy; niece, Kaycie;  nephew, Mike; aunts and uncles, Jean and Henry Wakeland of Whitney, Ann Sirkel of Arizona, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. McCain of Burns, Texas and Mrs. Irwin McCain of Dallas; his faithful four-legged companions, Buddy and Sissy; and many cousins and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father, G.W. Yarbrough on Jan. 25, 1994, and by his grandparents.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the chapel of  Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2  p.m. with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Waxahachie Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
