Bill Price, 81, of Waxahachie passed away Aug. 27, 2009, at home with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Fargo, N.D. He married Lois Taylor on Aug. 30, 1952. They moved to Texas in 1980 and were faithful members of Waxahachie Church of Latter Day Saints.
Bill retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of faithful service with the rank of sergeant major. He served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. During the Korean War, his platoon was captured and held for 19 days. He was one of three surviving platoon members released.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lois Price of Waxahachie; daughters, Tina and Gregory of Bellwood, Neb.; Terrilynn and Rick Williams of Sequim, Wash.; April and Eloy Ortiz of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Lisa and Lance Hendryx of Dallas, Trinity and Corey Boswell of Colorado, and Eddie and Jenni Price of West Point, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; sister, Mary Pattie-Felner of Camrose, Alberta, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Perpetual Educational Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at the Waxahachie Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Kevin Mawhinney officiating.
