On Feb. 14, 2011, our Lord Jesus Christ took our mother, Elvira De Los Santos Garcia by the hand to lead her home to heaven. She was born March 21, 1936, in Tea Cup, Kimble County, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Trinidad De Los Santos; her mother, Luz De Los Santos; and one son, Jimmy Garcia.
Elvira is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joe Garcia Sr. of Waxahachie; four daughters, Alba Mantyla and husband, Bruce of Oak Cliff, Carmen Castillo and husband, Daniel of Waxahachie, Jane Vender and husband, Kenneth of Coppell, Rose Burchfield and husband, Jack of Waxahachie; one son, Joe Garcia Jr. and wife, Pamela of Waxahachie; 14 grandchildren, Amanda Solis, Bryan Regalado, Melissa Regalado, Jeremy Castillo, Joshua Castillo, Jodan Castillo, Jennifer Allen, Michelle Luna, Jeffrey Rhodes, Logan Vender, Tyler Vender, Andrea Garcia, Aaron Garcia and Aric Garcia; 17 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Trisiten, Andrew, Jayden, Jerrin, Jeremy II, Jadelynn, Janessa, Jude, Joshua II, Cody, Paige, Jerezy, Pete, Alexis, Leighton and Jayden; three sisters, Herminia Menchaca of Junction, Texas, Lupe Condarco of Hereford, Texas, and Erma Galindo of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Amadeo De Los Santos and Julian De Los Santos both of Junction, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
