Delsie Ophelia (Brown) Owens was born on Jan. 9, 1926 in Carl Junction, Mo., to Harrison Benjamin and Mildred Oneal Moore Brown. She passed away on May 10, 2007 in Waxahachie, Texas at the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Delsie was born in Missouri, but was raised in Fort Scott, Kan. She was married for over 56 years to Bassel B. (B.B.) Owens, having married in Las Cruces, N.M., on Dec. 9, 1950.
In addition to her husband who resides in Midlothian, she is survived by her children, Bobbie Ray DiMarco of Denton, Mildred Lou (Midge) Nash (husband James) of Midlothian, April Maydelle Kitchens (husband Gregory) of Mansfield, Brenda Hayes of Surprise, Ariz.; grandchildren, Shannon DiMarco, Brandon DiMarco, Brandy Flamont (husband Glenn), Joseph Lanford, Emily Gibson, Nicholas Kitchens, Benjamin Kitchens, Brandi Kitchens, Brittany Kitchens, Lance Kitchens, Angie Davis (husband Bruce), Michael Nash (wife Teresa), Cynthia Nash; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Guiliana, Cecilia, Garrett, Charlie, Lilly, Stephen, Chase, Taylor, Chelsea (husband Todd), Kyle, Kaylee; great-great-grandson, Hunter Sanders; sisters, Daisy Green and Delphine Gilpin both of Joplin, Mo.; brother, Ray Brown; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial Service were at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, Midlothian Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
