Delicia Gay (Pevytoe) Butler of Midlothian, Texas, went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the age of 48. Gay fought a good battle to defeat ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
She was born on July 27, 1958, in Dallas, the beloved daughter of Lee Roy and Frances Pevytoe. She was an “Oak Cliff girl,” graduating from Sunset High School in 1976.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband of 16 years, Wes Butler; son, Jordan Hansen, who was her pride and joy; stepson, Brady Butler and wife Kelley; sister, Kelly McCaskill and her husband, Pat, and children Sam and Matt McCaskill and Nicholas Vela; brother, Jeff Pevytoe and wife Liz and children; grandmother, Lillie May Farmer; mother and father in law, Pat and Jo Beth Butler; sisters in law Brenda and Darrel Hobbs, Debbie and David Simonton; brother in law James Butler; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved pets, Babs and Annie and her four donkeys, Jennie, Jesus, Applejack and Rowdy.
Gay’s heart was broken when she lost her sweet girl Maggie, but Maggie is now in her arms once again.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 4 at Midlothian Funeral Home. The funeral service was 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County with burial immediately following the service at Little Bethel Memorial Park in Duncanville, Texas.
