It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of David Schubarth of Red Oak on March 28, 2011. David was born June 18, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colo. to Donald and Virginia Schubarth. He spent most of his life in Texas. His life philosophy was to have fun. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He took special pride in his gardens.

He was preceded in death by his mother; father; step-father, B.H. Risinger; and father-in-law, Francis Simmons.

David is survived by his wife and soul mate of 32 years, Toni Simmons Schubarth; his  five children, Marsha Ticer and son-in law, Kevin of  Childress, Ricky Schubarth and Patric of Childress, Stephen Schubarth and daughter-in law, Shamin of Atlanta, Ga., Donald Schubarth and daughter-in-law, Sarah and David A. Schubarth of Red Oak. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren. David had the pleasure of seeing granddaughters, Mackenzie and Tilly, on a daily basis and they filled his days with joy. He is also survived by brothers, Donald Schubarth of Panama City, Fla. and Mike Risinger of San Antonio, Texas; and his mother-in-law, Edith Simmons.

The family would like to express appreciation to Dr. Jason Nordstrom and Odyssey Hospice for their special care and support of our husband, father and grandpa.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Burial of ashes by immediate family members will be conducted at the Red Oak Cemetery.
