Dave H. Dunlevy, 65, of Athens, formerly of Waxahachie, passed away Aug. 23, 2007 in Tyler, Texas. He was born April 4, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Charles Mullin and Elizabeth Fisher Dunlevy.

He was a graduate of Fort Smith (Ark.) High School and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. He resided in Waxahachie for 35 years before moving to Athens in 2006. Dave was associated with Marine Industry Services in Waxahachie more than 30 years retiring in 2004.

He was very active in Boy Scouts of America serving as scoutmaster for Troop 232, unit commissioner and district commissioner. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a son, David Dunlevy, Waxahachie; grandson, Dustin Dunlevy, Waxahachie; and companion, Sandi Rush, Athens. He was preceded in death by the mother of his son, Anita Dunlevy, on Aug. 12, 2006.

Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie, with the Rev. Vance McIntosh, officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Cemetery.
