Claud Jenkins Jr., age 79, of Waxahachie passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born July 21, 1927, to Claud and Bessie Iola (Glenn) Jenkins.

He married Margaret Phillips on Nov. 22, 1951, in Ellis County. He was in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country in Korea, the Philippines and several other countries.

Claud retired from the Waxahachie ISD after having worked for the Waxahachie Police Department, Ellis County Bail Bonds and Kirkpatrick’s Garage.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Jenkins; daughters, Bessie Grigsby and her husband Fred, Peggy Wolfe and her husband Brete and Judy Riojas, all of Waxahachie; nine grandchildren, Chad Mayes, Jenny Strength, Tracy Huskins, Rachel Grigsby, Brandi Lozano, Sgt. Tony Grigsby, Matt Grigsby, Coleman Ogletree, Brandon Wolfe and Tommy Ogletree; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Jenkins and his wife Shirley; sister, Barbara Jean Shinpaugh and her husband Oscar; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the funeral home.
