Chrystine Clements Spain, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 24.

Graveside services were held at Hurst Ranch Cemetery in Hamilton County.

Chrys was born in Hamilton, Texas on May 6, 1926. She had been a resident of Midlothian for over 53 years.

During the 1960ís she was employed by the Midlothian Mirror and wrote a column called Just A Rambliní. She spent many hours researching the pioneer families that settled around Midlothian, visiting stately old homes and searching out hidden cemeteries in the area.

Spain worked with the Mirror when the office was located on Avenue F. and worked with both Penn Jones and Barham and Sunny Alderdice to put out the paper.

Survivors include a son, Jim C. Spain; a daughter, Suzy Goldman; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
