Charles Allen Pettit, son of Mike and Sallie Chatham of Chatham, La., and Ruth Pettit of Homer, La., passed away on April 28, 2007. He was born Oct. 26, 1965.

He was employed as chief of security at Front Line Protective Services. Prior to that he worked as a jailer for the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Ellis County and for three years at Smackover Police Department. He served as president of the reserve officers at the El Dorado Police Department for seven years.

Sur-vivors include his parents; daughters, Lindsey Michelle Pettit and Whitney Lynn Pettit of El Dorado, Ark.; sister, Stephanie Doolan and husband Blake of Venus; nieces, Allie and Alivia Doolan of Venus and nephew, Ethan Burton of Smackover, Ark.

A memorial will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the Waxahachie Bible Church.
