Brenard (B.J.) Jack Jean, 87, of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in Mansfield, Texas. He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Farmers-ville, Texas, to Earnest Welch Jean and Birdie Louise (Tate) Jean. Brenard was an honorary lifetime member of the American Legion. He taught Sunday school at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home for 40-plus years and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Henley and her husband Don of Waxahachie, Shirley Parker and her husband Roger of Seattle, Washington, and Brenda Jean of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren, Susan Henley, Mark Henley, Chrystal Hall-Doyle and Wendy Sheets; great-grandchildren, Lilly Sheets, Kyle Sheets and Brendan Doyle.

Brenard was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Burrus and Burton Jean; two sisters, Wilma Howard and Joyce Jean.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Waxahachie or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
