Billie L. Hobbs, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
She was born July 17, 1935, in Belton, the daughter of W.T. and Opal Montgomery Robinson. She was reared in Houston and Palmer where she attended high school.
On March 17, 1951, she married Bobby Hobbs of Palmer. After their marriage they lived in Belton, moving to Palmer in 1952.
She was a member of the Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby, of Palmer; a son and his wife, Robby and Sally Hobbs of Palmer; a daughter and her husband, Thelma and Jimmy Harper of Palmer; three brothers, Hallie Robinson, Narel Robinson and Everett Robinson, all of Palmer; three sisters, Joyce McElhaney of Ferris, Verda Heard of Palmer and Virginia Kay of Ferris; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lloyd.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19 in the Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie with Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. S.G. Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Harper, Marcus Harper, Jason Harper, Bobby Hobbs, Zach Hobbs, Holden Harper, Turner Harper and Tim Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the J.E. Keever Mortuary - Palmer Chapel.
