Aline Marthalis Penn Turner, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb.17, 2011, while residing at Bender Terrace Nursing Center in Lubbock, Texas. Aline was born March 8, 1917, in Silverton, Briscoe County, Texas, to Jake and Jenny Penn. The family lived in Lockney, Texas, where she attended Lockney High School. In 1938, she became a licensed cosmetologist and maintained her license for 54 years. Aline married James Haskell Turner on Sept. 10, 1938, and they had three children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Aline in survived by her children, Rex Turner and wife, Vickie, Jim Turner and wife, Paula and Jane Chastain and husband, Bob; sister, Maudine Denison; grandchildren, Susan Chastain-Collins, Cherilyn Chastain, Nancy Roso, Brandon Turner, Byron Turner, Shawna Turner, Kyle Turner and Judy Chang; great-grandchildren, Megan Collins, Chase Roso, Dawson Roso, Braxton Turner, Brody Turner, Kamri Turner, Zoe Turner, Sage Turner, Maddox Turner, Basil Turner and Noah Vang; and many extended family member and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Midlothian Funeral Home and services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Midlothian Church of Christ with burial at Midlothian Cemetery.
