Adelle McElroy Andres Coker, dedicated mother and generous friend, succumbed to Alzheimer’s, August 2 at age 90.
Her sons, Jerry Andres of Dallas, and Joe Andres of San Francisco, Calif., survive her. Others who enjoyed her love are granddaughter Elizabeth Andres of Los Angeles, daughter-in-law Amy Love of San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adelle was born in 1917 in Midlothian, the descendent of early Texas settlers, the eighth of 11 children. She was a long-time resident of Dallas, where she owned and operated Adelle’s Beauty Shop in Oak Cliff for 45 years.
Visitation is at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Oak Cliff from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 9. Her life will be celebrated at Laurel Land at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug 10.
Adelle, who died in the grace of God and in the earnest hope of the faithful, will be laid to rest beside her loving husbands who preceded her, Charles B. Andres and Hugh B. Coker.
We will miss her generous heart, her intense loyalty, and her delicious pecan pies. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Grace Presbyterian Village are suggested in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are by Laurel Land Funeral Home and they can be reached by calling (214) 371-1336.
