Students are excited as they and 500 volunteers prepare for the 14th annual Waxahachie Drop Everything and Read Day on Feb. 11.
Volunteers from around the community, businesses, organizations, churches, universities and PTOs will join Waxahachie ISD campuses and read to classrooms in this community-wide reading effort to emphasize the value and joy of reading by providing reading role models.
Many volunteers have already committed to read, but many more will be needed for this special day. Donations are also being made so that every elementary classroom in Waxahachie has at least one new book for the day.
Reading times are 15 minutes at 8:45 and 10:15 a.m.
