The Waxahachie High School counseling department will host its annual college career night from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17.

This is an open invitation to all Ellis County high schools, students and parents who are interested in college information to visit with the more than 75 representatives from a variety of colleges, universities and career institutions that will be in attendance.

There will also be two financial aid presentations in the library, with the first presentation from 6:30-7 and the second from 7:30-8. Information will be provided for parents and college bound students from grades seven-12.

A senior information meeting will be held in the Fine Arts Center for senior students and their parents.

“This will be a very informative meeting with topics covering the college application process, testing dates, financial aid, FAFSA, college tuition, scholarship information and procedures, recommendation letter procedures, senior deadlines, important dates, senior pictures, cap and gown and graduation announcement information and Project Graduation,” a spokesman said, noting counselors will be available to answer questions.

In conjunction with college career night, the high school also will host its annual open house. Parents are invited to meet their students’ teachers and visit their classrooms and tour the campus. Student schedules and school maps will be provided.

“This is a great opportunity for parents to get important information concerning their senior students,” the spokesman said. “Please come and join us.”
