Firefighters canít anticipate the types or number of calls they have each day so they respond to each emergency in a fire truck.

Waxahachie Fire Chief David Hudgins said using smaller vehicles isnít an option because time spent returning to the station to switch vehicles would delay the response.

Impact fees for water and wastewater facilities were adopted in the amount of the proposed maximum allowable impact fee per living unit equivalent for water at $3,923 and the maximum allowable impact fee for wastewater $848. The city staff was directed to prepare an ordinance for the councilís consideration and presentation at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Taken off the table was an ordinance authorizing updated service credits on an annual basis for city of Ovilla qualifying members of the Texas Municipal Retirement System and allowing increased municipal contributions.†

With Ovillaís Heritage Day coming up Sept. 24, the council members reviewed and discussed their individual progress leading up to the event.

As at every council meeting, finance department accountant Sharon Jungman offered up the cityís monthly financials.†

A proclamation was also read proclaiming the week of Sept. 17-23 as the cityís official Constitution Week.
