DALLAS – Claims Administrative Services announced today that Venus ISD, one of more than 470 school districts and colleges participating in the CAS worker’s compensation association plan, recently received a safety management award reserved for plan members who achieve the best loss control results.
The district was recognized by CAS at its 18th Annual TASA Mid-Winter Luncheon on Jan. 26 in Austin. CAS awarded a $500 scholarship in recognition of the district’s success in implementing safety programs that minimize losses and control workers’ compensation cost.
CAS has assisted Texas schools and colleges in preventing over 24,400 employee injuries since 1991, and the company estimates that participating members have seen more than $294 million in total claim savings during that time.
CAS President, Bill Costanza, commented, “Venus ISD administrators should be congratulated for their commitment to workplace safety and cost control.
“We at CAS are pleased to see participating members realize such excellent results. At CAS, our top priority is providing the safest possible workplace for district employees while keeping costs at a minimum.
“Given the economic challenges currently facing our nation, state and educational entities, helping our clients realize cost savings is of paramount concern,” he said.
