The United Way of West Ellis County will host a campaign coordinator’s luncheon for those businesses and organizations interested in running a workplace campaign.
The luncheon is set for Aug. 14 at noon at the Navarro College Waxahachie campus. During the luncheon, campaign coordinators will receive information relative to running a successful workplace campaign, important dates to remember as well as contact information.
The majority of funds obtained by the United Way are received through partnerships with various businesses and organizations in West Ellis County. These entities can conduct workplace campaigns and participate in their company’s payroll deduction plan. Individuals can also make one-time donations to the United Way of West Ellis County.
“I encourage Ellis County businesses and organizations to select a representative to send to the campaign coordinator’s luncheon,” said Nicole Mansell, 2008 campaign coordinator. “This luncheon will be a great opportunity to meet fellow coordinators and gain ideas on how to run a successful campaign. All businesses and organizations are welcome to attend this event hosted by the United Way of West Ellis County.”
The planning phase of the 2008 campaign is in high gear with the community wide kick-off set for Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Waxahachie Civic Center. This year’s goal of $500,000 is the most aggressive goal ever set by the United Way of West Ellis County, Mansell said, noting board members are working diligently to get the word out about the upcoming campaign.
“The campaign coordinator’s luncheon is another way in which we plan to step up our campaign efforts,” said Dr. Harold Nolte, chairman of the United Way of West Ellis County. “The luncheon is also our way of saying ‘thank you’ upfront to those businesses and organizations willing to conduct a 2008 workplace campaign.”
Communities served by West Ellis County United Way include Avalon, Milford, Maypearl, Midlothian, Red Oak, Waxahachie and others.
