Two employees at Coal City Cobb were injured Saturday while working on a truck-tanker. Both were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital as a result of their injuries.

First responders were dispatched to the 4300 block of Interstate Highway 35 at 10:08 a.m. on a call of a

chemical-related burn injury.

Waxahachie Fire Chief David Hudgins said a lid was opened on top of the tank, at which time the product inside, which was under pressure, was released into the face of an employee.

The employees were being decontaminated on site when firefighters arrived. Firefighters requested an air ambulance and continued the decontamination process until the employees were transported.

One employee was taken by Air Evac air ambulance, with the second transported by East Texas EMS ground ambulance.

The condition of the employees was unavailable as of press time.

Units cleared the scene at 10:45 a.m.
