Eastbound I-30 main lane at Zion Road to be closed this weekend
DALLAS COUNTY – Weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation is allowing the closure of eastbound I-30 main lanes just west of Zion Road beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, through 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.
The closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public as the contractor places steel bridge beams for the President George Bush Turnpike direct connector across I-30.
Motorists traveling eastbound on I-30 will be directed to exit at the Zion Road exit (Exit 61) onto the frontage road and will return to I-30 main lanes at the entrance ramp east of Bass Pro Drive.
Message boards announcing the lane closures have been placed to notify motorists.
This work is part of the $1 billion President George Bush Turnpike eastern extension project that connects I-30 to the existing PGBT. TxDOT is managing construction of the new Lake Ray Hubbard bridge and I-30 interchange, which are scheduled for completion by spring.
