GALLUP, N.M. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a Texas woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband after stopping a bus she was riding on Interstate 40 near Gallup on Friday.
McKinley County Sheriff's Sgt. Matt Hughbanks says 34-year-old Dina Jackson of Fort Worth surrendered by cell phone to the U.S. Marshals Service while on the bus. She was arrested without incident after state police and deputies stopped the bus just east of Gallup.
Hughbanks says Jackson is accused of stabbing her husband, 37-year-old Michael Jackson of Fort Worth, twice on Wednesday.
Hughbanks says Dina Jackson is being held in the McKinley County jail awaiting extradition to Texas on a murder charge. She also has been charged in New Mexico with being a fugitive.
