A warm, sunny Sunday was predicted across much of the Lone Star State,

Mostly sunny skies were expected in Dallas with a high near 93 and south winds between 5 and 10 mph. The low should fall to around 69 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies were also predicted in the Houston area with a high climbing to around 92 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The low should drop to around 67 on Sunday night under partly cloudy skies.

Patchy fog was expected before 10 a.m. in the Rio Grande Valley. The high should climb to near 90 degrees in Brownsville. The low should drop to around 73 on Sunday night, with winds gusting as high as 20 mph.

A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms was in the Amarillo forecast after 1 p.m. Otherwise, skies should be partly cloudy in the Panhandle with a high near 89. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. The low temperature should drop to around 60.
