Plenty of sunshine was expected across Texas on Monday with high temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
Sunny skies were expected in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with a high near 66 degrees and south-southeast winds from 5 to 10 mph, increasing to between 15 and 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. The low should drop to around 50 on Monday night.
The high should reach near 67 degrees in the Houston area under sunny skies. Skies should be most clear during the early evening, then become partly cloudy with a low around 53.
Sunny skies were predicted in the Rio Grande Valley with a high near 75 in Brownsville. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. The low should fall to around 56 under mostly clear skies.
Partly sunny skies were expected in the Panhandle with a high near 73 in Amarillo. Wind chill values should be between 26 and 36 early. The low should drop to around 39 degrees,
