WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old girl kidnapped from Texas was found safe in the parking lot of a central Ohio truck stop.
Sheriff's deputies found the girl Friday morning and arrested her parents. Authorities say they not have legal custody of the child and had driven with her from Texas in an 18-wheel semitrailer after taking her from a supervised visit.
Forty-six-year-old Angela Williams and 57-year-old Carl Forlano, both of New Hartford, N.Y., are being held in the Fayette County Jail on fugitive of justice and kidnapping charges pending extradition proceedings. Neither has a lawyer listed in jail documents.
The girl was taken to Fayette County Children Services pending her return to Texas.
