BULLARD, Texas (AP) — A Bullard man died following a family disturbance and apparent fight after his teenage son allegedly refused to get out of bed.
Smith County Sheriff's Lt. Larry Wiginton says 46-year-old William David Ross Jr. confronted his son Wednesday morning when the youth failed to get up on time.
Wiginton told the Tyler Morning Telegraph, for its online editions, that Ross was "ranting and raving about the kids always being late and they got into a fight."
Wiginton says Ross, who was pronounced dead at a hospital, had some medical problems. Details were not disclosed.
Autopsy results are pending.
Wiginton declined to identify the son. No one has been arrested.
Bullard is about 100 miles southeast of Dallas.
