Texas was in for a breezy day on Wednesday with wind gusts up to 20 mph expected throughout the state and gusts in the 30s in West Texas, according to the National Weather Service.
In North Texas, a mixture of mostly cloudy and partly sunny skies was forecast for the Dallas and Fort Worth area with highs in the mid- to upper 70s and overnight lows in the 60s.
Mostly sunny skies were expected in the Panhandle with a high near 80 and overnight lows in the 40s. A calm wind was expected to shift from the north to the south and could gust as high as 20 mph at night.
In Central Texas, patchy fog was predicted before 9 a.m. around Austin and San Antonio. Otherwise, skies were forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 85 and overnight low in the mid-60s.
Along the Gulf Coast, highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 60s were possible under partly sunny skies. Overnight winds between 10 and 15 mph were expected from the south.
West Texas was due for a high in the mid-80s to the lower 90s with overnight lows around 50 under mostly sunny skies. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph around the El Paso area.
