BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - Several property owners whose land the government is taking for the border fence were scheduled to return to court as they prepare for trials that will establish how much they will be paid early next year.

The landowners' attorneys and the government have been trying for months to nail down exactly what land the government wants for what will be one of the last fence segments to be completed along the U.S.-Mexico border.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen has scheduled a status hearing to discuss several outstanding issues.
