AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Investigators suspect arson in a fire that left a 70-foot-long double-deck, paddlewheel party boat a charred hulk after its propane tanks exploded and sent the burning empty vessel adrift on Austin's Lady Bird Lake.

No one was hurt in the Sunday fire aboard the boat moored at a marina next to a downtown Austin hotel.

Fire Department Capt. Andy Reardon says witnesses reported seeing several people fleeing the vessel.

Damage is estimated at $1 million. The explosion and fire also damaged two smaller vessels and the dock where they were berthed.

Firefighters waded into the lake and used a boat hook to pull the drifting boat to shore.
