MIDLOTHIAN - Police are investigating a report of an attempted child abduction Saturday at Wal-Mart, located at the intersection of U.S. Highways 67 and 287.

The incident occurred at about 2:45 p.m., with Midlothian police and other agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and Ovilla Police Department, responding to the scene.

Police made contact with a 41-year-old woman who reported she confronted a man whom she saw trying to entice her 6-year-old son. The woman said the man was hiding behind some boxes and was whispering and beckoning the child over to him. She told police that when she asked the man what he was doing he fled into the parking lot.

The responding law enforcement agencies blocked all entrances and exits to the store and conducted a search for the man, who was not located.

The man is described as a white male, about 25 to 30 years old, with a shaved head and tattoos on both of his arms. He was wearing a black ball cap, black T-shirt and blue jeans.
