Saturday night, Waxahachie police responded to a call of an armed robbery at a bank in the 100 block of Northgate Drive.

Officers responded at 11:17 p.m. after two employees of a local store reported they were making the business’ night drop. The employees said a man walked up, brandished a firearm and demanded the money. The employees cooperated and the suspect fled the area on foot.

“One police officer was only seconds away from the bank when the call came out,” detective Sgt. Todd Woodruff said. “He and another officer searched the area around the bank, but they were unable to locate the suspect.”

The suspect is described as a tall, dark-skinned male of unknown age wearing a red shirt.

Anyone with information about the case should contact the Waxahachie Police Department detective Derek McKie at 972-937-9940.
