ENNIS - The St. John School Advisory Board and the St. John Bazaar Committee are engaged in a cooperative effort in support of the upcoming annual fund-raising event.
After a special called meeting Aug. 3, advisory board president Adam Gamble announced that in addition to the two groups working together that the income from the bazaar will be used to fund school operations and insurance.
“This will be a real shot-in-the-arm for St. John School, at a time when it is really needed,” said Larry Deagen, bazaar committee chairman.
During the meeting, the two committees discussed ways and means to improve this year’s bazaar.
“We will be announcing some exciting news,” said Adam Gamble, advisory board president.
“With added input from the School Advisory Board, some new ideas emerged which will be added to this year’s bazaar — helping make it the biggest and most fun ever,” Deagen said. “A complete layout of plans for the bazaar will be presented at a later date.”
Advisory board members at the meeting included vice president Adam Gamble and Kenny Smith. Bazaar committee members included chairman Larry Deagen, secretary Dolores McKibbin, publicity chairman Carol Honza and Jeanette Murphy, Barbara Sims, Maggie Holy, Cheryl O’Brien and William Becker. Other members of the bazaar committee who were unable to attend were Jerry Haba, Linda Robledo, Sergio Diaz and Keith Sibley.
The 2007 St. John Bazaar is set for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15 and 16 on the KJT grounds on South Paris Street in Ennis.
