Spring is on the horizon, as is the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Spring Fling, and local vendors are being sought for the May 3 event in downtown Midlothian.
The Spring Fling, which is an arts and craft fair, will host craft booths, artisan showcases, food booths and service information at the Heritage Park log cabin area on 8th Street.
“This is a great opportunity for vendors to showcase and sell their products and services to visitors as well as local residents,” said Amanda Miller, Executive Director for the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage everyone to come out on that Saturday, which is the week before Mother’s Day, and shop at all the arts and crafts booths.”
Last year’s events saw hundreds of people come downtown to enjoy a day of arts and crafts and visit a variety of booths offering a large selection of professional and civic services.
The Spring Fling is the chamber’s big arts and crafts fair and is the community’s first big outdoor event following winter. Midlothian has been hosting Spring Fling since 1989 and the event has developed a reputation as one of the finer spring festivals in the Metroplex.
The event has craft booths, food booths and service booths in the downtown log cabin area. Past flings have been family oriented with lots of activities for the kids.
Admission is free.
Many of the arts and craft booths return to Midlothian’s Spring Fling year after year. The chamber has already signed up a number of food and crafts booths.
Vendors are asked to remember this is an outdoor event and a tent is recommended for sun or rain protection.
Registration forms for vendors can be obtained at the Chamber’s website at www.midlothianchamber.org, or by calling (972) 723-8600. Early deadline to reserve booth space is April 22. Chamber Members also receive a special discount on vendor space.
The final deadline to reserve a booth is April 30.
“We always have a great response from vendors wanting to attend Spring Fling,” Miller said. “We hope this year will be bigger and better than ever.”
