Late last week, foreign language teachers, city officials and others in the community interested in participating in the Waxahachie Sister Cities Partnership (WSCP) convened in the Chamber of Commerce meeting room for an organizational meeting.

A member of Sister Cities International, WSCP was formed in March 2006. Earlier this year, Waxahachie’s first sister city was chosen: Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico.

Plans are currently underway for a small group of WSCP representatives to make a fact-finding trip to Sabinas and other parts of Mexico.

Future plans for WSCP include exchange between Waxahachie and Sabinas in the areas of education, medicine and business.
