ENNIS – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s assistance in its investigation into the death of 38-year-old Connie Jimenez of Ennis.

Jimenez’s body was found face down in a creek at about 2:03 p.m. Sunday, May 22, in the 600 block of Central High Road in the Ennis area; an autopsy has since revealed head injury and drowning as factors contributing to her death, according to information released Tuesday by the sheriff’s office.

Deputies had responded to the location on a report of a deceased person, arriving to find Jimenez, who initially went unidentified as no identification was with her body.

Justice of the Peace Bill Woody pronounced the unidentified female dead at the scene and ordered the body taken to the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.

Working with the Ennis Police Department, the sheriff’s office was subsequently able to identify the woman as Jimenez.

Anyone with information as to Jimenez’s whereabouts since Friday, May 20, is asked to contact sheriff’s investigator Jeff Winningham at 972-825-4992.
