“Seats of Hope” is the theme of a special program/fund-raiser to be presented Friday, Oct. 26, by Hope Clinic in the family life center at First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin St. Waxahachie.

The program, which will highlight the past year’s progress and a look ahead to the future, gets under way at 11:45 a.m. and will conclude at 1:15 p.m.

“One of our patients will give a testimonial and we will be talking about the direction of the ministry for next year,” executive director Mackie Owens said.

Citizen’s National Bank will provide lunch, which will be followed by Owens presenting information about the ministry and a video of the clinic’s work this past year.

“Because of a grant of $60,000, we will now be able to take Medicare and Medicaid patients,” Owens said. “Up until now, we have only been able to care for uninsured patients.”

Owens said the clinic expects to implement the new program by the end of 2008.

“We want everyone in the community to come,” said Owens of “Seats of Hope.

Donations will be requested at the end of the program.
