Red Oak High School hosted the 2007 senior scholarship awards night on Thursday, May 11. Students receiving scholarships are as follows.
ATPE awarded Melody Haynes a $500 scholarship. Ellis County A&M Club awarded Jacob Walker a $1,000 scholarship. Waxahachie Junior Service League awarded Katelyn Tonick a $1,000 scholarship. Sydney Henson and Danielle Pevehouse received scholarships in the amount of $250 from Eastridge Elementary PTA. Red Oak Intermediate PTA gave $500 scholarships to Melody Haynes and Cameron Hawkins. Jostens awarded Erica Muhammad and Cameron Hawkins with $500 scholarships. The $8,000 M.E. Singleton Scholarship was awarded to Dyann Lopez, Bryan Cline, Erica Muhammad, Nuri Mahmood, Alicia Suarez, Kristen Petrichenko, Rodney Cooper Jr. Katelyn Tonick, Melody Haynes, Tasha Cannedy and Daniel Rodrigues. Bryan Cline and Alicia Suarez received $500 scholarships from Prosperity Bank. Jefferson Bank awarded Erica Muhammad a $250 scholarship. Vintage Bank awarded Dyann Lopez and Sydney Henson $250 scholarships. The Red Oak Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Alicia Suarez and Erica Muhammad $1,000 scholarships. Sheridan Pearson and Stephanie Shelton received $250 scholarships from the Red Oak Baseball/Softball Association. TXI Midlothian Community awarded $1,000 scholarships to Erica Muhammad and Tanner Sutherland. The Josh Walker Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500 went to B.J. Garcia. The Project Success/Steve Kent Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 went to Curtis Kelsey. The Shattered Dreams Scholarship in the amount of $500 went to Brook Gantt. Erica Muhammad was awarded the Outstanding HADDITT Student scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Cameron Hawkins received a $400 scholarship from Project Success. Melody Haynes and Alicia Suarez received $300 scholarships from Project Success. Kimmie Kelley, Cassity Jones, Melody Haynes and Alicia Suarez received $250 scholarships from Renaissance. The Red Oak Debate Scholarships in the amount of $250 went to Charles Wickersham and Alissa Blake. Sean McCumber received a $750 scholarship from the Red Oak Future Farmers of America, who also awarded B.J. King with a $1,000 scholarship. The Red Oak High School All Sports Booster Club awarded Marcus Bables and Erica Muhammad $1,000 scholarships and Krystal Doughtry and Anthony Cicconi $500 scholarships. The Red Oak High School Counseling Department awarded Bryan Cline with $250, Elizabeth Morton with $400, $250 to Sydney Henson, $250 to Melody Haynes, $400 to Erica Muhammad, $250 to Dyann Lopez, $400 to Cameron Hawkins, Maria Minter with $250, Nick Ashford with $400, $400 to Clinton Henry and $250 to Kristin Petrichenko. Danielle Pevehouse received $250 and Shaun McFadden received $350 from the Red Oak High School French Club. The Red Oak High School Hawkettes awarded $300 to Kayla Miller. Red Oak High School Journalism awarded $1,400 to Jordan Sonnenberg, $1,280 to Melissa Schupmann and $1,320 to Tanner Sutherland. Alissa Blake received $2,000 and Sarah Doty received $1,000 from the Red Oak High School National Honor Society. The National Honor Society also awarded scholarships in the amount of $500 to Alicia Suarez, Kristin Petrichenko, Melody Haynes and Cameron Hawkins; $300 scholarships to Dyann Lopez, Cassity Jones and Nick Ashford; $200 scholarships to Erica Muhammad, Daniel Rodrigues, Bryan Cline and Tasha Cannedy. The Red Oak High School PTSA awarded a $1,400 scholarship to Erica Muhammad; $1,000 to Christina Polinski; $700 to Melody Haynes; $1,200 to Cameron Hawkins; $650 to Rodney Cooper; $700 to Tanner Sutherland; $850 to Melissa Schupmann; $850 to Sarah Doty; and $650 to Dyann Lopez. Red Oak High School Spanish Club awarded $500 scholarships to Lauren Hadaway, Nuri Mahmood, Erica Muhammad and Dyann Lopez. Red Oak High School Theatre Arts awarded $100 scholarships to Austin Patterson, Curtis Kelsey, Brandon Scott, Elizabeth Morton, Jessica Flores, Henry Loomis, Abby Bland, Brittany Wickliffe, Kyle West, Caitlan Burkham and Bryan Blankenship. Brandon Scott and Melissa Schupmann received $200 scholarships from UIL Academics. Dyann Lopez received a $1,000 scholarship from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. The Wal-Mart Foundation awarded Erica Muhammad with a $1,000 scholarship. Erica Muhammad and Dyann Lopez each received $2,000 from the RMHC National Scholarship Program. Erica Muhammad received the $500 Texas PTA Scholarship. Dyann Lopez was awarded the DAR Good Citizen Scholarship. The Texas Elks State Association awarded Bryan Cline with a $7,000 scholarship. The Red Oak Spirit Club awarded Cassity Jones a $700 scholarship; Kimmie Kelley $400; Christal Hudson $350; and Sydney Henson a $500 scholarship.
